Press release:
With almost 2 million Tunisians living abroad, the Tunisian diaspora is more than ever a major resource for the Tunisian economy. By the end of 2023, money transfers from the diaspora should reach 10 billion dinars.
As part of its commitment to supporting value-creation players in Tunisia, 216 Capital has invested 400,000 euros in the Franco-Tunisian startup My Easy Transfer, which facilitates secure money transfers from the diaspora.
The fintech story begins with brothers Ismaïl and Jabrane Khenissi, IT and finance professionals with careers in major international banks in the UK, France and Africa. They founded their fintech in March 2022 with the aim of simplifying money transfer services for their community and using their expertise to serve their country and compatriots. In just one year, My Easy Transfer has achieved strong growth, managing to reach 10,000 customers.
"My Easy Transfer represents a huge potential, capable of transforming the financial transfer landscape and offering faster, more economical solutions for users," explains Dhekra Khelifi, Partner at 216 Capital.
This fundraising marks a major milestone in the history of the startup, which aims to evolve its platform to meet all the payment needs of the diaspora: money transfers, sending mobile top-ups, bill payments—all in a single mobile app. My Easy Transfer also plans to evolve its model to become the first payment Super App for the diaspora, strengthening its presence in Tunisia through new partnerships and expanding into new markets in Africa such as Morocco, Mali, Senegal...
