A ‘quattro’ of Mix N’ Mentors coming to Saudi Arabia
Wamda is organizing four rounds of its flagship event, Mix N’ Mentor, in Saudi during the last two months of the year.
The events are expected to take place respectively on November 2 and 18 in Riyadh, on 25 in Eastern Province, and on December 21 in Jeddah. The main partner in the four events is Small and Medium Enterprises Authority Monsha’at (SMEA).
The first event is going to happen in partnership with KAUST, at the university campus.
The second, is in partnership with Badir, while the third is in partnership with Wa’ed, Aramco's entrepreneurship arm. The fourth Mix N’ Mentor in the Kingdom will also be happening in partnership with Badir. More details about the venues will be revealed at a later stage.
Several mentors have already confirmed their participation, including Nabil Nazer, CIO of Alsulaiman Group, which invests in various sectors, including financial services, venture capital, and ecommerce, Ali Mahmoud, an entrepreneur and startup product manager from Supermentor, and Hashim Alawadi from Technology Investments Company.
These events will be closing 2017, a year where the entrepreneurial ecosystem made a step forth when it comes to the number of startups in the country, the investments made, and the governmental support and interest the industry received.
The first Mix N’ Mentor for 2017 was held last April in Riyadh, and brought some of Saudi Arabia’s most promising startups and entrepreneurs along with investors, mentors, and government stakeholders.
The purpose of Mix N’ Mentor is mainly to bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and investors, by creating a close-knit community that is empowering and supportive in face of the increasingly competitive ecosystem.
