Tripoli Startup Forum awards three startups cash prizes
The Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club hosted the annual Tripoli Startup Forum at the Rachid Karami International Fair in Tripoli as the closing event of the Startup Seeds Program. The event was held in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce in Tripoli and North Lebanon and USAID, with the support of the Banque du Liban.
Over a thousand participants came from across the region and took part in the organized activities, which included panels and discussions held by international organizations such as Google and Marka VIP as well as Lebanese ones like Banque du Liban and Kafalat SAL. The Google Developers Group hosted open workshops as well.
More than 50 Lebanese startups participated in the Startup exhibition, and 12 startup ideas were part of the demo day, the last phase of the Startup Seeds pre-acceleration program.
Three startup ideas were awarded cash grants:
-
Smart Shelter: a mobile shelter for refugees that is easy to build and allows NGOs to monitor the condition of the shelter using a data management system.
-
E-Light: solar panel enabled curtains that can generate electricity sufficient for a household or office.
-
Wearlgo: a search engine that collects and organizes information about clothing offered by renowned brands.
