Sixth edition of Mix N’ Mentor Beirut coming on September 8
There is a reason why Beirut is talked about so much in the startup world.
While the city may not be as big as Cairo or Amman or as rich in terms of capital as Dubai, its human capital makes up for what it lacks in resources. Lebanese entrepreneurs tend to be highly educated, comfortable in the digital space and eager to prove themselves.
This is exemplified by some of the recent initiatives that have launched in Beirut. These include the Nucleus a new program launched by the UK Lebanon Tech Hub, wherein six startups were given $20,000 in capital, earlier this year, as well as services valued at $30,000 in exchange for five percent equity. Another example is BDD’s own Speed accelerator program, which has recently concluded its fourth demo day where one startup walked away with $50,000. The program is now accepting applications for it’s fifth batch of startups.
Mix N’ Mentor is working to create the perfect ambiance for investors, mentors, corporates and entrepreneurs to discuss different avenues of collaboration and their part in the growing tech ecosystem in the broader region.
Mentorship sessions are at the core of the event. Whether in groups or one-on-one, we bring in local, regional, and global experts, to sit with entrepreneurs and help them find solutions for their challenges.
Mentors who will share their expertise include LMTD founder Will Hutson, Vinelab’s Abed Agha, Fadi Ghandour executive chairman of the Wamda Group, Khaled Talhouni and Walid Faza partners at Wamda Capital.
A number of workshops are also organized throughout the event, ranging from user acquisition to growth hacking, branding, to business development and team building.
At the end of the day, the whole participating group comes together to reflect on learnings in a fun, collaborative and very casual setting.
Applications are now open, register here.
