Girls got IT: Encouraging girls to choose tech
On the 12th of March 2016, five organizaions dedicated to supporting women in tech will be bringing together 400 female high school students for Girls got IT, with the aim of educating them on opportunities in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics fields (STEAM) at the Dbayeh Convention Center, in Dbayyeh, Lebanon.
Around 20 practical and technical workshops will take place to engage students in different activities and teach technical hands-on skills. They will also have the chance to network and select mentors.
Workshops will include:
-3DTEK - Bring Your Idea To Life
-Wezank, video production
-Cedar Environmental
-LittleBits and hardware design
-Change your life: learn to code
-The Little Engineer Teens Go Green Solar Car Workshop
-Airbus Little Engineer A380 Assembly Workshop
Wamda will also be giving a workshop titled "From Idea to Business: Design Thinking your way out of a challenge".
At the end of the day, 20 awards will be distributed to the best participants.
