Think Science Competition Encourages UAE Youth to Pursue a Science Major
The Emirates
Foundation for Youth Development is gearing up to launch the
Think Science
Competition for three days, starting April 21st in the
Dubai World Trade Center.
The foundation, which was founded by the Abu Dhabi government,
will provide students and young entrepreneurs in the Emirates
with a chance to showcase their projects and ideas to a community
of investors and private and public sector companies, in hopes of
transforming them into real projects.
Thus far, over 170 projects from more than 400 students have been
submitted, withseven different UAE universities partnering on 33
projects. The winners, chosen by a team of 40 judges, will be
announced on April 23rd.
The Think Science Foundation is part of the Emirates Foundations'
broader goals to improve and develop youth potential across the
Emirates, supported by The Ministry of Education, the Abu Dhabi
Education Council, Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority and
Siemens.
To do so, the foundation is building a "social investment" model,
setting up a long-term projects program to support enterprises that
foster social and economical progress in the country.
