GE, MENA startups come together on common ground [Video]
During the last quarter of 2015, Wamda and General Electric (GE) kicked off a new common activity, the ‘GE MEMakers Mentorship Program’. This six-week intensive program was designed to have GE employees and MENA entrepreneurs in one room, working together, sharing expertise and discussing ways to collaborate in the near future, at the GE Ecomagination Center in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi.
A dozen startups from throughout the MENA region, received professional advice while top GE employees got a closer look at the startup experience.
This first activity is an opening chapter, drawing the beginning of a journey Wamda and GE are looking towards guiding, between startups and GE employees. Participants worked side by side to solve specific challenges all revolving around industry focused solutions such as recycling, connectivity, sociability and mobility in cities.
The entrepreneurs were matched with GE mentors in order to have more productive interactions.
