LabLabee, an innovative Algerian edtech startup, has successfully raised $3.4 million in seed funding to propel the adoption of 5G, cloud, and AI technologies across the telecommunications and industrial sectors. The investment round was led by Reach Capital, with significant contributions from Classera, and supported by existing investors Brighteye Ventures and e& capital. Additionally, prominent business angels like Cedric Sellin and Mohammed Husamaddin have joined this funding effort.
The company aims to solidify its leadership in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions while planning to expand into the US market through partnerships with major cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, and GCP. LabLabee is set to broaden its educational offerings by introducing new hands-on training labs for VMware, Redhat, and Windriver.
LabLabee is dedicated to improving the learning experience through immersive features such as a sandbox environment where users can learn, practice, and test within a single platform. The startup will also enhance its course catalogue with topics relevant to the fourth industrial revolution, including telco security, AI applications in telecommunications, and edge computing.
To support its expansion and better serve its growing customer base, LabLabee plans to increase its international workforce, hiring specialists in engineering, sales, and customer support. Founded in 2021 by Samir Tahraoui and Mahfoud Sidi Ali Mebarek, LabLabee offers practical, hands-on learning experiences focussing on cutting-edge network technologies.
The company collaborates with a wide range of organisations, including telecom operators, vendors, and educational institutions, to integrate practical exercises into training programmes, thereby reducing costs and enhancing skill development. This approach addresses the significant skills gap in cloud-native technologies among telecom operators, providing learners with affordable, on-demand labs covering various advanced technologies like 5G, IMS, and Kubernetes.
Esteban Sosnik, co-founder at Reach Capital, praised LabLabee for its commitment to addressing the skill shortages in the telecom sector, recognising the founders’ deep technical expertise and industry insights. Samir Tahraoui emphasised that LabLabee’s solutions are designed to simplify the learning process, making it quicker and more practical for professionals in rapidly evolving tech landscapes.
