GetMuv raises $500,000 bridge investment

Saudi Arabia-based health and fitness app GetMuv, has raised a $500,000 (SAR 1.8 million) bridge round from the entrepreneurship arm of Aramco, Wa’ed.

Founded in 2017, GetMuv offers its users flexible memberships across multiple gyms throughout the Kingdom, instead of making long-term commitments to a single club. More than 100,000 Saudis have applied to gym memberships through the app.

“We are grateful to Wa'ed for their continued funding support, as we grow and expand our business. Since our startup was created at the end of 2017, GetMuv has developed a loyal customer base of 130,000 registered sport and fitness enthusiasts who gain flexible, affordable, and on-demand access to over 100 top gyms, including Body Masters, KORE, Arena, NuYu, and other sports clubs across Saudi Arabia,” said Ibrahim Yousef, CEO and co-founder of GetMuv.

GetMuv also plans to use the new funding to expand into the Kingdom’s corporate health and wellness sector. With the new investment, GetMuv has launched 1Pass, which allows employees of registered companies to use participating gyms of their choice, pay monthly, and activate or cancel their passes anytime. 1Pass will be offered at SAR 249 per person.

“This latest funding reflects our confidence in GetMuv’s business model and clear value to the Kingdom’s future. As an innovative, digital solution that is helping boost fitness levels nationwide, GetMuv is another example of ingenuity that is ‘Made in Saudi Arabia,” said Wassim Basrawi, managing director at Waed
