Cedar Environmental, an environmental and industrial engineering organization, led by Lebanese entrepreneur Ziad Abi-Chaker (below, image via L'Orient Le Jour) has identified an innovative method for disposing of expired pharmaceutical pills by embedding them in recycled plastic panel boards developed by the company.
The project, done in collaboration with a team of researchers led by Dr. Walid Saad from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the American University of Beirut (AUB), has proven to be an effective and safe way to dispose of expired medicines.
