First tech map for Iraq launched
This article is a crosspost from Bite.Tech
Over the past six months, Bite.Tech, an independent newsletter covering the digital economy and startup ecosystem across Iraq and Kurdistan, has been mapping out the startup ecosystem in Iraq.
As a result, the first tech map for the country has seen the light. Six startup categories are currently present on the market, including ecommerce, coworking spaces, media, events, makerspace, and education, with a total of 13 startups.
This map helps identifying the main challenges the Iraqi startup ecosystem has been facing. It also highlights the gaps and the opportunities within the system, such as the missing investments/funding category.
