1864 Accelerator, open for applications
The 1864 Accelerator constitutes the first local financial technology focused (FinTech) startup accelerator program of its kind in Egypt. Powered by Flat6Labs in partnership with Barclays Bank Egypt, the accelerator is a solid platform for fostering the (FinTech) innovation space in Egypt through enabling entrepreneurs to transform their disruptive ideas into commercially viable solutions.
After a rigorous selection process, each accepted company will start the onboarding process with company registration. The 1864 Accelerator team will help the startup teams begin operating as a fully-fledged incorporated business by helping them with signing term papers, company registration, legal agreements, and lightweight due diligence. After this point, you are ready to begin operating as a fully-fledged incorporated business.
Once the teams receive their orientation and are set up, the 14-week cycle begins with giving them access to mentors to begin training and learning from them. The first month of the program is focused on building and iterating the minimum viable product. The second month focuses on market access where teams enter the market, begin acquiring customers and measure response. By the third, teams are growing their company and analyzing data to decide whether or not they will need to pivot or proceed as usual.
At the end of the program, a Demo Day is held giving the companies the opportunity to pitch in a room full of accredited VCs, angel investors, entrepreneurs, mentors, partners, and the media.
Startups can apply for the first 1864 Accelerator cycle through the website and fill out a form via the F6S portal. The deadline for application is August 7.
