Resource Scarcity and the Future of Business, Interactive Webinar
Aramex, ArcelorMittal, the London Business School and CSM will join a live webinar debate on resource scarcity, organized by the Ethical Corporation, on February 7th, 11am GMT. The theme of the free 1-hour discussion will be “How the company of 2020 will operate in a resource constrained world.”
According to UN projections, two thirds of the population will be in “water stressed conditions” and 2 billion people will be experiencing severe water scarcity by 2025. Rise in demand for food and energy is predicted to rise by 50% in the year 2030.
Compounding this problem, is that KPMG estimates 60 per cent of businesses “do not have a long-term strategy to deal with water scarcity.”
Offering their views and answering questions on this topic will be four business and academic experts:
- Raji Hatter, Chief Sustainability and Compliance Officer, Aramex
- Head of CSR, Charlotte Wolff, Head of CSR, ArcelorMittal
- Ioannis Ioannou , Assistant Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, London Business School
- Nicola Kimm, Sustainability Director, CSM Global
The interactive debate will focus on practical measures and steps businesses can implement in the areas of supply chain management, behavioral change, and green technology.
