Flat6Labs Joins Global Accelerator Network
Tech startups seeking acceleration and support in Egypt now have a better chance to connect with peers around the globe. After Wamda's announcement of a partnership with Flat6Labs to provide follow-on funding for selected tech startups that graduate from the Cairo-based accelerator, Flat6Labs is announcing a partnership with the Global Accelerator Network.
Patrick Riley, the director of GAN, welcomed Flat6Labs startups aboard in a video, saying, "We have heard a great deal about Flat6Labs. We know that the companies going through Flat6Labs are going to be some of the best companies in the world. I cannot wait to see who those companies are, what they will achive, and how they become a positive and active part of the global entrepreneurial ecosystem."
The perks include deals, discounts and upgrades from companies like Microsoft, SoftLayer, Amazon Web Services, and Rackspace, as well as invitations to their annual founders conference, where founders from startups that have graduated from a GAN accelerator network and trade advice.
Following SeedStartup in Dubai, Flat6Labs is the second accelerator in MENA and the first in Africa to join the network. Hopefully it will continue a trend of opening up global opportunities for startups in Egypt, giving them an early glimpse into the ways their potential competitors around the globe are working.
Ramez Mohamed, CEO of Flat6Labs affirmed Flat6Labs' excitement and commitment to supporting its startups through GAN's global investors, mentors, and business opportunities, saying, "We look forward to a high level of collaboration with GAN and all of its members."
