Creating a Culture of Hacking for Social Good in the Arab World [Wamda TV]
Sana Odeh of Faculty Liaison for Global Programs of Computer Science at New York University and Affiliated Faculty at NYU Abu Dhabi, describes launching the NYU Abu Dhabi International Hackathon for Social Good in the Arab World, which brought together students in the Arab World to code applications for social good.
Odeh discusses why training our youth in computer science is critical for encouraging to take innovative approaches to computer science while solving global economic problems.
"We need to create a culture of computer science about collaboration, about building applications, about problem solving, to teach our students to really look within themselves and come up with solutions," she says.
