N2V Invests in Saudi Gaming Platform GameTako
Investment and incubation platform N2V announced investment in Saudi gaming portal GameTako yesterday, in a move designed to boost the creation of high-quality Arabic games.
GameTako, whose CEO Abdullah Hamed recently spoke to Wamda about the need for an Arabic-dedicated game distribution platform in the Middle East, aims to provide not just a platform for game developers to monetize their products but also support and training for them to develop fresh, creative games in Arabic.
In the press release, Hamed pointed out that GameTako aims to disrupt the way that games are being made in the Arab World, by building a sustainable community around game creation.
With the investment, he told Wamda, "I plan to improve on our existing services, create more events and opportunities for independent developers, expand our technical backend, and try to attract more talent to use our platform as a solid monetization platform for their games."
For N2V, it's a great opportunity for supporting the creation of original Arabic gaming content, as GameTako is swiftly on the rise.
