Press release:
Saudi-based tech talent platform Squadio has raised $3 million (SAR 11 million) in a Pre-Series A round to expand its AI-driven remote hiring services across the MENA region and beyond. The round included participation from Wa’ed Ventures, 500 Sanabil MENA, Nour Nouf Ventures, SEEDRA Ventures, and the National Technology Development Program (NTDP).
Founded in 2019 by Khaled Senawy, Squadio enables companies to build high-performing, remote-first tech teams by connecting them with vetted global talent. The platform now features over 55,000 tech professionals from more than 80 countries and has worked with 450+ companies in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, and the United States.
Born out of a vision to democratise access to elite software development talent, Squadio focuses on on-demand hiring for engineers, designers, and product managers, allowing startups and enterprises alike to assemble custom tech teams that scale seamlessly. Its client base includes leading Saudi firms such as STC, Elm, Thiqah, Monsha’at, and Nupco, all leveraging Squadio to enhance their digital capabilities.
“Squadio is on a mission to bridge the global tech talent gap from Saudi Arabia,” said Khaled Senawy, Founder and CEO. “This funding round validates our model and fuels our ability to scale faster while staying true to our vision—helping companies build world-class digital products, regardless of geography.”
With this new capital, Squadio will strengthen its AI-powered matching algorithm, enhance operational infrastructure, and expand its presence in MENA, Africa, and Silicon Valley. Headquartered in Riyadh, the company already operates satellite offices in Dubai, Alexandria, and California’s Silicon Valley, positioning itself as a cross-border enabler of global-scale engineering teams.
As remote work and AI-driven hiring reshape the global workforce, Squadio is betting on a future where geography no longer limits innovation — and where Saudi-born tech platforms play a defining role in that transformation.
